Partner in Education Spotlight: Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce Leadership Jefferson Program is designed to create community awareness, encourage discussion of a wide range of issues, and develop leadership skills among participants. Presentations include lectures, panel presentations, tours and a wide variety of group activities. Participants are given the opportunity to explore issues of interest to our county by meeting with county leaders who represent a broad range of community interests including Agriculture, Business and Industry, Education, Local Government and Justice, Health Care, Human Needs and Services, Heritage and Tourism, and State Government. Jefferson County School leaders Keela Long and Kevin Polk are member of the 2024 Leadership class. Keela is the Work Based Learning Coordinator for JCS and Kevin serves as an instruction facilitator for the District.  Both Keela and Kevin work with Career and Technical Education whose mission is to expand student access to programs of study that lead to post-secondary success in college and in the work force.  The Leadership group toured JCHS CTE programs, CNU, and TCAT Morristown.
