Dr. Joey Byrd is honored to serve as the Principal of Maury Middle School. With more than 15 years in education, she is passionate about creating a school where students feel valued, challenged, and excited to learn each day. She believes that strong relationships, a positive school culture, and high expectations are the foundation for helping every student reach their full potential.

Dr. Byrd earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Carson-Newman University and is committed to serving students, supporting teachers, and working alongside families to make Maury Middle School a place where everyone belongs.

When she's not at school, Dr. Byrd enjoys spending time with her husband, Greg, and their daughter, Aubrey Jo. She loves reading, decorating, tackling creative projects, and making lasting memories with family and friends. She is proud to be a Hornet and looks forward to partnering with the Maury Middle School community for many great years to come.
